An Act of Dog
An Act of Dog is a nonprofit organization that takes a more artistic look at The No-Kill Equation. Using art and social change Mark Barone, an established and well-respected artist of over 30 years, is raising $20 million dollars to be donated in its entirety to no-kill shelters, rescue groups, animal medical needs, rehabilitation programs and proactive no-kill marketing campaigns. It will take Mark 2 years to paint the same number of dogs that are euthanized in a day – 5,500 innocent souls. Upon completion of the paintings, they will be housed in a permanent art exhibition in a museum to raise the much needed awareness that is necessary to bring the existing archaic shelter system into the 21st century. Even though they have chosen to paint dogs, their goal is that all animals in shelters, including cats and rabbits, will be saved. Visit www.anactofdog.org to see the current paintings and to sponsor a dog.
