Cuddle Clones Donates $400 to Help Get Rowdy Back on His Feet!
Rowdy, a 2-year-old Basset Hound, was found as a stray in South Texas. He suffered severe nerve and spinal trauma, probably from the result of being hit by a car weeks before he was rescued. Rowdy has large abrasions on his legs (most likely from dragging his legs after the injury) and severe muscle atrophy. The North Texas Basset Hound Rescue that is now caring for Rowdy started his road to recovery with drag bags ($85) and a walkabout rear harness ($50) to help with mobility and protect the sores on his legs. Rowdy has recently fitted for a cart ($413) to help with his mobility. He has both fecal and urinary incontinence, so he wears disposable diapers that cost about $20/dozen. Rowdy also tested positive for heartworms (estimated treatment cost of $650) and needs to be neutered (estimated cost of $200). His treatment plan currently includes routine acupuncture and laser therapy (4 rounds at $95 each), and then he will begin water therapy. NTBHR will also be sending Rowdy for a neurological evaluation. They do not know if Rowdy will ever be continent or able to walk on his own. He has a long road ahead, but North Texas Basset Hound Rescue can give Rowdy the best life possible with a little help.
